LIFE SAVING CHAPLAINCY AT THE 2020 NSW STATE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

On the weekend of the 6-8 March, NSW’s best lifesavers converged on Swansea Belmont SLSC for the 2020 NSW State Open Championships. This year LSCA was present at the event with local Chaplain, Jason Been from Caves Beach SLSC, David  McCallum from Redhead SLSC,  Thomas Schmid from Wanda SLSC as well as the Ministry Development Coordinator and Chaplain for Alexandra Headlands SLSC, QLD, Greg Perren. It was an important week of connecting and building the LSCA network.  Our local chaplains were able to connect with lifesavers and provide support to some who had suffered grief and loss.

We were also able to connect with Warwick Mears, SCA Regional Coordinator for Newcastle, Central Coast and Hunter Valley and plans were made to connect again to support chaplains in the area.
